For families in Minnesota, there are plenty of options to choose from, and you can travel to nearby states to see a side of nature you have never witnessed before.
The following places make for ideal RV trips in the fall, and one is bound to be up your alley.
SUPERIOR NATIONAL FOREST, MINNESOTA
Established in 1909, the Superior National Forest is a beautiful place where you can actually get in touch with nature, history, and wilderness. This is a place full of fun outdoor activities to do. This is a place full of fun outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, swimming and fishing. The possibilities are endless.
Superior National Forest has over 2,000 miles of trails for hiking, making it very attractive for those hiking lovers out there. Is is known as the RV gateway to the Boundary Waters due to its many campgrounds with RV campsites across the park, which are perfect for families and campers who are planning on staying for some time.
The Superior National Forest is not only well known for its boreal forest ecosystem, but it also contains the one-million-acre Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. With 77 lake accesses, you can enjoy the open water by boat or swimming. This could be an in-state gateway that you would definitely enjoy!
GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, MONTANA
If you feel adventurous enough to traverse a couple of different states, then you can end up in Glacier National Park in Montana. You can get the most out of your new RV by visiting one of the lesser-known gems in the northern United States.
While most people head over to Yellowstone, you can beat some of the crowds by going to this incredible park.
You can travel through the Going-to-the-Sun Road, which lasts for 50 miles. During this trek, you will see all of the splendors of nature, including colorful wildflowers, mountain ranges, waterfalls, valleys, and glaciers. You can go on a ranger-led program to take a tour of the surrounding area. It always makes for beautiful photography, so you will have plenty of souvenirs to show your friends once you return.
However, you should keep in mind that the high elevations can lead to early snow, so check the forecast before making the trip.
MARK TWAIN NATIONAL FOREST, MISSOURI
Named after the famous author, Mark Twain National Forest encompasses more than 1.5 million acres of beautiful greenery. It expands across 29 different counties in Missouri, so you will never be at a shortage of things to do and places to see. There are numerous recreational activities to partake in, such as mountain biking, horseback riding, and hiking.
There are also over 350 miles of streams flowing through the forest. That means you can also go kayaking and canoeing at your leisure. You can camp in style directly in the park, and with an RV at your side, you will not have to worry about forgetting anything.
